Independent evidence for Pacific markets
Merchandising and promotion measurement
Did the display, promotion or retail intervention make a difference?
Patternfield Measure evaluates a defined retail intervention against an agreed measurement plan. For brands and retailers considering a display, merchandising change, promotion or in-store campaign, the first task is to establish what can credibly be measured with the available evidence.
Separate execution from outcome
Was the intervention delivered where and when it was intended? Were the product, stock and price conditions consistent with the plan? Execution evidence and sales outcomes answer different questions; one cannot substitute for the other.
A sales increase during a display or promotion is an observation. Estimating what changed because of that intervention also requires a defensible account of what would have happened without it.
Plan the comparison before launch
A measurement brief should identify the decision, stores or formats, timing, outcomes, baseline records and possible comparison conditions. We consider price, promotion, stock, seasonality and other activity that could influence the same outcome.
The appropriate design depends on feasibility and evidence quality. Not every campaign needs an experiment, and having comparison stores does not automatically establish a credible counterfactual. Actual records, execution, design diagnostics and uncertainty determine the strength of the eventual claim.
What the report may establish
A scope may support observed units, sales or value, execution context and a comparison-based estimate where justified. Incremental estimates are reported only when the evidence supports them. Return estimates also need appropriate cost information and an adequately supported effect estimate.
The conclusion can be no detectable effect, insufficient evidence or an unresolved result. These are useful boundaries when deciding whether to repeat, change, scale or stop an intervention. We do not promise sales uplift or causal certainty.
Check readiness, then discuss the gaps
Use the free Measurement Readiness check to explore the potential pathway your current design could support. Answers stay in the page. The result is indicative planning guidance, not a statistical result, completed analysis or causal certification.
Patternfield can work independently, with an AisleWise campaign or with another measurable retail intervention. Buying AisleWise media is not a condition of a Patternfield engagement. Bring your question even if the measurement brief is still taking shape.
